Mechwarrior is a series of video games that feature giant, humanoid combat vehicles called BattleMechs. The player takes on the role of a BattleMech pilot and typically completes missions such as escorting convoys, destroying enemy targets, or defending friendly units. The series began on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) with Mechwarrior 3050, which was released in 1994. The game featured 2D graphics and a top-down view of the battlefield.
