"King of Fighters '99, The" is a 2D fighting game developed and published by SNK for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) in 1999. Players select teams of three characters from a roster of fighters representing various nations and engage in one-on-one battles against other teams to determine the ultimate champion. The game features improved graphics and gameplay mechanics compared to its predecessors, as well as a new "Striker" system that allows players to call in additional characters to assist them during battles.
