ActRaiser is a video game for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES), released in 1990. The game combines action platforming and city-building simulation elements. In ActRaiser, players control a divine being known as "The Master" who must battle demons and other enemies in side-scrolling levels. Between these action stages, players must also manage a civilization by directing its growth and development, including building structures and managing resources. The game's plot involves The Master's attempts to help revive and protect humanity from evil forces, with the ultimate goal of defeating the demon lord Tanzra. ActRaiser was well-received upon release and is often regarded as a classic of the SNES era.
