Phantom Fighter is a 2D action game developed by Marionette and released for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) in 1988. The player controls a martial artist who must battle ghosts and other supernatural creatures throughout various locations in China, including villages, temples, and graveyards. The game features side-scrolling gameplay and boss battles, as well as RPG elements such as the ability to level up the player character's stats and purchase items from shops. The game also includes a unique "punch meter" mechanic, which determines the strength of the player's attacks based on how long they hold down the attack button.
