Adventure Island is a side-scrolling platform game developed and published by Hudson Soft for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). The game follows the adventures of Master Higgins as he runs, jumps, and battles his way through eight different worlds in order to rescue his girlfriend from the evil Witch Doctor. Along the way, players must gather food items to avoid running out of energy, and can gain power-ups such as weapons and skateboard rides to help them on their journey. The game is known for its challenging difficulty and colorful graphics.
